Bible Craft for Jesus Teaches Prayer

Materials:

1. For the praying hands; cardboard or heavy construction paper, flesh colored felt pen, crayon or paint.

Instructions:

1. Cut out the hands, paste on cardboard or construction paper, color them flesh colored.

Explain to the children that one day when the Lord Jesus was praying, one of them asked Jesus to teach them to pray.. then tell the children the Lord's prayer "Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily brad. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: for thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory, for ever. Amen."

Then tell them that Jesus taught them what the prayer meant, and that some people think they are more religious than others because of the way they pray. Tell them that the Lord Jesus said that it is the humble people who see themselves as sinners who need the mercy of God that will be lifted up.
