Instructions:

1.  Trace the coat onto heavy construction paper, or cut it out, and color it as you like.

Explain to the children that every year when Hannah went to the temple to worship with her husband, she brought Samuel a little coat..  tell them that after Hannah gave little Samuel to the Lord's service, he gave her seven more children.

2.  Trace the bed onto cardboard or heavy construction paper, draw a figure to represent Samuel on the bed, color the bed and the blanket as you like.

Explain to the children that in those days the word of God was very precious, because there were no more dreams and visions.  Tell them how the lamp in the temple went out  when Samuel was sleeping, and he heard a voice call "Samuel, Samuel".  Tell them how he went to Eli because he thought it was him, but Eli sent him back to bed.  Explain the third time Samuel came to Eli, Eli knew it was the voice of the Lord and so he told Samuel that the next time he heard the voice he was to say "Speak Lord, for your servant hears"   Tell them how the Lord again called Samuel and told him everything that was going to happen to Eli and his sons.
