Bible Craft for Paul is Shipwrecked

Materials:

1.  For the bread, construction paper, beige paint, crayon or felt pen, or a real loaf of bread.

2.  For the boat, cardboard or heavy construction paper, gray or brown paint, felt pen or crayons.

3.  For the pieces of the ship, cardboard or construction paper. gray or brown paint, felt pen or crayons.

Instructions:

1.  Cut out the drawing of the bread, paste it on construction paper, color it beige.

Tell the children how when Paul was a prisoner and was sailing on a ship to Phenecia, a great wind came up and Paul told everyone on board that the angel of God had appeared and told him that no one on the ship would be lost.

Tell them how when the storm got worse, some men wanted to leave the ship, but Paul them they had to stay if they wanted to be saved, and he took bread, gave thanks to God, and they all had something to eat.

If you are using a real loaf of bread, perhaps you could act this out with the children by giving thanks and then everyone having a piece..  be sure they know this is a meal, and not  taking bread as in the Lord's Supper...

2.  Cut out the boat, paste it on cardboard or heavy construction paper, color it brown or gray.

Tell the children that there were 276 people on the boat and they threw a lot of things off the boat, but the ship broke up.  Tell them how the soldiers wanted to kill the prisoners because they thought they might try to escape.

3.  Cut out the piece of wood, paste it on cardboard, or heavy construction paper, color it brown or gray.

Tell the children how everyone was brought to shore and saved, some by swimming, some by clinging onto boards, and some by holding onto broken pieces of the ship, just as the angel of God had promised Paul.
