Bible Story Craft for Jesus and Zacchaeus

Materials:

For the tree: construction paper, pale enough so you can color the leaves green and the trunk and branches brown; felt pens, paint or crayons, brown and green.

Instructions.

Trace the tree onto construction paper, color the leaves green and the trunk brown. Let the children draw Zacchaeus sitting on the bottom right branch. Let them draw in the Lord Jesus standing below.

Explain to the children how Jesus was entering into Jericho and Zacchaus wanted to see him, but he was very small and couldn't see Jesus over the people, so he climbed into a sycamore tree. Tell them how when Jesus came to the tree, and saw Zacchaeus, he told him to come down because he wanted to stay at his house. Tell them that Zacchaeus hurried down, and was filled with joy because Jesus wanted to stay with him..
