Childrens Book of 2 Thessalonians
Chapters 1-3

I have written this for children, based solely on the Word of God, but condensed for them... and used Noah Webster's 1828 Dictionary for clarification of some words. My added comments are in italics, but there are no memory verses for this letter as the whole thing works together..

Chapter 1

Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy to the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Brothers, we always thank God for you, as it is proper, because your faith is growing, and because of the love that you have for each other. We speak of you to the other churches of God because of your patience and faith in all the persecutions that you endure. And this shows that God is holding you up, you are worthy of the kingdom of God for which you suffer.

God will punish those that persecute you. And you that are persecuted, will be at rest with us when the Lord Jesus comes from heaven with his mighty angels. In flaming fire, punishing those that do not know God, and that do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Who will be punished by being forever separated from the presence of the Lord, when he shall come to be glorified in his saints (for his being the sacrifice for our sins on the cross, and his resurrection from the dead, by which we who believe are saved).

We always pray for you, that God will see you worthy of this calling, that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. (Jesus will be glorified because of what he did for us, and for how we lived our lives in this world following the leading of the Spirit)

Chapter 2

Brothers, we plead with you by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together to him (see 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)

Do not be troubled in your mind, neither (in your) spirit, nor if someone tells you something, nor by a letter that is said to be written by us, that the day of Christ has come.

Do not let any man deceive you in any way, because that day will not come before there is a falling away first (from the faith) and the man of sin is revealed (the antichrist). Who will opposes (Christianity) and makes himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped, so that he (making himself ) as God, sits in the temple of God, showing that he is God (he sets himself up as the one to be worshipped)

Don't you remember that when I was with you I told you about this? But now he is being restrained until his time comes to be revealed. And when the time comes, he will be revealed, and the Lord will destroy him when He comes. He will be destroyed who is after the working of Satan. He will use all forms of wicked things to deceive those that are condemned, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. (they rejected the gospel). Because of this, God will send them a strong delusion (something they think is truth, but is false) so that they will believe a lie, because they did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in things that were not holy.

But we always give thanks to God for you brothers, because God has from the beginning chosen you to be saved through the setting apart of the Spirit and (because you) believed the truth.

He called you by our gospel, to obtain the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ (when He comes, we shall be with him and like him)

Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, which loved us, and gives us comfort and hope through grace, comfort your hearts, and make you firm in every good word and work. (as you are led by the Spirit)
