Philippians - Chapter 3-4
Welcome, I have written this for children, based solely on the Word of God, but condensed for them... and used Noah Webster's 1828 Dictionary for clarification of some words. My added comments are in italics, and there is a Memory Verse for each chapter.
Chapter 3
Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord. Beware of those who do evil things. We worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus. Don't be confident in who you are by the way you were born. I (Paul) was born of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew, a Pharisee (one who kept ceremonies and traditions and thought themselves to be better than other Jews because they kept the law of Moses). I (Paul) punished those who believed in Jesus, I was blameless regarding keeping the law (of Moses).. but these things that were gain to me, those I counted lost for Christ. yes and I count all things lost for the excellency of knowing Jesus Christ my Lord (notice that Paul says "my" Lord.. Paul has received the Lord Jesus as his Saviour) I have suffered the loss of all (earthly) things, and think of them as rubbish, so that I may win Christ, and be found in him not my own righteousness of keeping the law, but through the faith of Christ, the righteousness (holy in his heart) which is of God by faith.
So that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, that I will someday know resurrection (in Christ). Brothers, I do this one thing, forgetting those things which are behind me, and reaching forth to those things which are before me, I go on toward the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. (when we are with the Lord Jesus)
Therefore let us who are spiritually mature, be so minded, and if you are more interested in anything else, God will reveal that to you. Let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.. (that is pressing onward to our redemption)
Brothers, follow together with me, and watch others who follow (my teachings) so that you have us for an example (of how you should live your life of faith) Because many, who I have to you about, are the enemies of the cross of Christ. Their end is destruction.
Our behavior is in (looking forward to) heaven, from where we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall change our body so that it is like his glorious body, because he is able to bring all things unto himself.

Chapter 4
Therefore my dearly beloved brethren, stand fast in the Lord. (that means do not be moved from believing the gospel, or telling others about the Lord Jesus).. Be joyful in the Lord always, again I say, be joyful. Let your calmness of mind be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Do not be full of concern for anything, but let God know your requests through prayer and giving thanks. The peace of God which is beyond all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds (that means that as you pray and trust God and have faith during times of trial, God will hold you close and you will be filled with peace) through Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are proper, whatever things are lovely, whatever things that will make us well spoken of; if there is any virtue (anything good in those around them) if there is any praise, think on these things.
The things that you learned from me, and received from me, and heard and seen of me, do those things, and the God of peace shall be with you.
I have learned to be content no matter what state I am in. I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.
You Philippians know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, you are the only church that gave to me. Even when I was in Thessalonica you sent to me the things that were necessary. Not because I desire a gift, but your gift is to God an acceptable sacrifice, and well pleasing to him. My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever.. Amen. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
