Children's Book of 1 Corinthians - 15,16

I have written this for children, based solely on the Word of God, but condensed for them... and used Noah Webster's 1828 Dictionary for clarification of some words. My added comments are in italics, and there is a Memory Verse at the end.

Chapter 15

Brothers, I speak to you the gospel which you have received and by which you stand, and by which you are saved if you keep in your memory what I preached to you.. I told you first of all that which was made known to me, that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.  And he was seen by Peter, and then of the twelve:  And after that, by more than 500 brethren at once.  Then by James; then all the apostles.  Last of all he was seen of me also, as one born out of time (that means that Paul saw the Lord Jesus when He appeared to Paul on the road to Damascus)

I am the least of the apostles, and not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. (before the Lord Jesus appeared to Paul [then called Saul] on the road to Damascus, he took Christians prisoner and had some of them killed for their faith in the Lord Jesus)  But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace that was given to me was not for nothing, but by his grace I laboured (that means doing the work of the Lord preaching the gospel) more abundantly that all of them, net it wasnot I, but the grace of God which was with me.

Now if it is preached that Christ rose from the dad, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection?  If there is no resurrection, then Christ has not risen (from the dead) and if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is useless, and your faith is also useless.  If Christ be not raised, than your faith is for nothing, you are still in your sins. And those that have died in Christ are lost.  If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men, the most miserable.

But now (we know that) Christ is risen from the dead.  Since by man (Adam) came death, by man also (the Lord Jesus when he came to this earth) came the resurrection of the dead. Every man in his own time, first Christ, then they are Christ's at his coming (when the Lord Jesus comes again) and at the end, when he delivers up his kingdom to God (after the 1,000 years when the Lord Jesus will rule and reign on this earth) when he has destroyed all his enemies.  The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

And when all things are subject to the Lord Jesus, then shall the Son (of God) also be subject so that God may be all in all.

Be righteous (live a holy life by the power of the Holy Spirit in you) and do not sin, because some do not have the knowledge of God.

But some will say, How are the dead raised up? and what kind of body do they have? The body you have is not the body that will be, God has given each man his own body as it has pleased him, there is one kind of flesh of men, another of animals, another of fish, and another of birds.  There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars, they differ from each other.  And so also is the resurrection of the dead.  The mortal body is weak but it will be raised in power.  It is a natural body (in the flesh) but it will be raised a spiritual body (in a different kind of flesh, when the Lord Jesus appeared to his disciples after he was risen, he had a flesh and bone body, but a different kind of flesh).

The first man Adam was made a living soul, the last Adam (Christ) was made a quickening spirit. The first man is of the earth, the second man is the Lord from heaven.  As the earthly is, (Adam) so are those that are born on the earth, and as is the heavenly, so are they also that are heavenly.  Just as we have born the earthly body like Adam's, we shall also bear the image of the earthly body (like the risen Lord Jesus)

Brothers I say this, flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God.  Look, I am showing you a mystery; we will not all die, but we shall all be changed.  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet, for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised, and we shall be changed.   And when these bodies that decay shall become bodies that do not decay,  then the saying will be fulfilled with says "O death where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory? (this refers to when the Lord Jesus comes again, the bodies in the grave of the people that have died knowing Jesus as their Saviour, and the bodies of people who are still alive that know Jesus as their Saviour will be changed in the speed of the blink of an eye)

But thanks be to God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  And so therefore, my beloved brothers, stand fast, do not move, always do the work of the Lord, because you know that your work in the Lord is not useless.

Memory Verse: 15:52 "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet, for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised, and we shall be changed."

Chapter 16

I will come to you when I pass through Macedonia, and maybe I will stay and winter with you. If Timothy comes, let no man hate him, but be peaceful with him.  Watch, and stand fast in the faith, be strong.  Let all your things be done with charity (see chapter 13 for the true meaning of charity).

If any man does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema (cursed, tormented, afflicted)  Maranatha (Come Lord Jesus)

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.  My love be with you all in Christ Jesus.  Amen.

Memory Verse "16:23 "The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you."
