There was a time when the Jews were trying to capture Paul the apostle, and so he went through Macedonia. And the men that he took with him were  Sopater from the city of Berea, Aristar and Secundus from the city of Thessalonica, Gaius from the city of Derbe, Timothy, and Tychicus and Trophimus of Asia.  And so Paul and these men sailed away from the city of Philippi and after five days, landed in the city of Troas where they stayed for seven days.

And on the first day of the week, the disciples came together to break bread, that is the remembrance feast that the Lord Jesus gave them at the last supper before He was crucified. That was when the Lord Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and broke it into pieces, and gave it to them and said "Take, eat: this is my body which is given for you, do this in remembrance of me"  And then he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it.  And he said to them "This is my blood which is shed for you.  Truly I will not drink of this fruit of the vine again until the day that I drink it in the kingdom of God."

And so after the Lord Jesus gave his life on the cross and was resurrected, the disciples continued this breaking of bread to remember the Lord Jesus, just as he asked them to do.  Paul began preaching to them, because he was going to leave the next day, and so he preached until midnight, and there were many lights in the upper room where they were gathered together.

And a certain young man named Eutychus sat in a window, and because Paul was preaching for such a long time, Eutychus fell into a very deep sleep, and fell down from the window of the third floor, and was taken up dead.

But Paul went down, and fell upon Eutychus, and taking him in his arms, Paul said "Don't be troubled, for his life is in him."

And so Paul went back upstairs, and broke bread, and ate, and talked a long time, until the next morning, and then he left.  And Eutychus was brought back alive, and all the people there were very comforted.
