In our last story, we learned how Mary Magdelene met the Lord Jesus after he had risen from the tomb, and how she went to tell the disciples that she had seen the Lord.  Then that very same day, which was Sunday, the disciples were in a room where they had shut the door because they were afraid of the Jews.  And suddenly the Lord Jesus came and stood in the middle of them, and said "Peace be to you, as my Father sent me, so I am sending you." And then he showed them his hands and his side, and the disciples were very happy when they saw the Lord.

Then the Lord Jesus breathed on them and said "Receive the Holy Ghost".  But Thomas, one of the disciples was not with them when Jesus came, and so the other disciples told him that they had seen the Lord, but Thomas said to them "Except I see in his hands the nailprints, and put my finger into the print, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe."  And eight days later the disciples were in the room again, and Jesus came into the room when the doors were shut, and again stood in the middle of them, and said "Peace be to you."  Then he said to Thomas "Reach here your finger, and look at my hands, and reach here your hand, and put it into my side, and be not without faith, but believe."

And Thomas said "my Lord and my God".  Jesus said to him "Thomas, because you have seen me, you have believed.  Those people are blessed who have not seen me, but they believe."

And Jesus did many other signs before his disciples, but they are not in the bible, but these things are in the bible, so that you would believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that if you believe, you will have life through his name.

Memory Verse: John 20:29 "....blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed."
