The Temptation of the Lord Jesus
Matthew, Mark and Luke

After John baptized the Lord Jesus in the Jordan River, Jesus was led by the spirit into the wilderness, where he was with the wild animals, and he was  tempted by the devil for 40 days,  And in all that time, he did not eat anything, and after the end of the 40 days, he was very hungry.

And the devil, who is called Satan, said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command that this stone be made into bread" and Jesus answered him saying "It is  written, that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God."

And the devil, taking him up into a high mountain, showed to Jesus all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.  And the devil said to him, "All this power and glory I will give you, for they are given to me, and I will give them to whoever I want.  If you will worship me, all shall be yours"  The devil was very foolish because Jesus was the creator of the world.  And Jesus answered and said to him "you get behind me Satan: for it is written, you shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve."

And the devil brought Jesus to Jerusalem, and set him on a tower of the temple, and said to him "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here, for it is written, He shall give his angels to protect you.  And in their hands they will carry you up, if at any time you should fall."

And Jesus answered him saying "It is said, you shall not tempt the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve."  And so when the devil had ended all the temptations, he left the Lord Jesus for a time.  And when he left, angels came and ministered to the Lord Jesus.

And after that The Lord Jesus began his ministry of preaching, teaching, and healing.

Memory Verse: Luke 4:4 "And Jesus answered him saying it is written, that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God."
