The Lord Jesus Christ is Coming Again

In an earlier story, we learned how the Lord Jesus went up to heaven with his disciples watching him until he went into a cloud.  And while they watched, two men who were angels came and stood by them and said "you men of Galilee, why are you standing looking up into heaven?  this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall also come back in the same way as you have seen him go into heaven."

The apostle Paul wrote a letter to the church at Thessalonica, and this is what he told them "I want you to understand about those who are asleep (that is Christians who have died) Do not sorrow as others who have no hope.  I am telling you this by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain here until the coming of the Lord will not be raised before those who sleep in Jesus.

For the Lord himself shall come down from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and those who have died who believed in Jesus shall rise first.  And then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and we shall be forever with the Lord.  And so comfort each other with these words.

The apostle John, who Jesus loved very much, was living on the island called Patmos when he was a very old man.  And one day he was praying, and he heard a great voice like a trumpet, and it told John to write a book to each of the seven churches which were in Asia.  And John turned to see who it was and he saw a beautiful sight!  He saw seven candlesticks and someone like the Son of man standing in the middle of them.  He was wearing a garment that was tied with a golden sash, his head and his beard were as white as snow, and his eyes were as bright as fire, and his feet were like fine brass.  And John was very afraid, but he said to John "Fear not, I am he that lives and was dead, and look, I am alive for evermore..Amen." And then he told John to write down the things he had seen, the things which were happening then, and the things that should happen after that.

And then He spoke to John about each of the churches, and how some of them would suffer, and some would be cold of heart, but that they were all to be overcomers.  That means that no matter what happened to them, they were always to have faith in the Lord and believe what the bible taught them, even until the day they died.

And then John was shown all the things that are going to happen but no matter what happens, God is in control of everything, and then when things become very terrible, the Lord Jesus is going to return in glory, and John saw a white horse, and Jesus upon his back, and the armies of heaven with him...and Jesus is going to have victory over the evil things that were happening, and after that there was going to be a great judgment and the people who died without receiving the Lord Jesus as their Saviour, are going to be separated forever from God.  And when John heard all these things, he said "Even so, come Lord Jesus."

Have you believed on the Lord Jesus? Our bible tells us that everyone has sinned, and that everyone needs to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour.  Maybe you wonder what sin things are...  they are things you know you should do but you don't do, or things you know you should not do, but you do them.  Everyone does these things, and everyone needs the Lord Jesus.

That is why the Lord Jesus Christ came to earth as a tiny baby.  He was born to Mary, who was a virgin, he lived a perfect sinless life and for three years he went about preaching the gospel, teaching everyone about what the scriptures said, and healed people to show that he was the Son of God. But Jesus was crucified on a cross just as He knew that he would be. He died so that those who believe on him will have everlasting life. Jesus was buried in a tomb, and three days later, he rose from the tomb and appeared to his disciples..

Do you believe that Jesus shed his precious blood for you?  That blood washes away all your sins when you receive the Lord Jesus as your Saviour, and most wonderful of all, because the Lord Jesus rose from the dead, when you receive Jesus as your Saviour, you will always know that when you die you will go to be with him and will always be with him, where there is no sorrow, no pain, no tears, only wonderful happiness and peace. Won't you ask Jesus to be your Saviour today?  God Bless you, dear one.
