Matthew 7
Coloring Page same as Matthew 5 and 6
Note: there are no questions or answers with the sermon on the mount. my own comments by way of explanation are in italics and bracketed.
Matthew 7 is the conclusion of the Lord Jesus' Sermon on the Mount to his disciples. And this is what he said:
Do not judge, so you will not be judged for how you judge others. Because by how you judge others, you will be judged. And what you do to them, it will be done to you.
Why do you see the wrong things that your brother (another believer) does instead of thinking about the wrong things that you do yourself? How can you say to your brother 'let me correct the wrong thing that you do' when look! there are wrong things that you do yourself? You hypocrite, first correct the wrong things that you do, and then you will be able to clearly see so you are able to properly correct your brother.
Do not give holy things to those people that do not desire or appreciate them, because they will trample them down and persecute you.
Ask, and it shall be given to you, seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you. For every one that asks receives, and he that seeks finds, and to him that knocks it shall be opened. What man is there of you that, if his son asks for bread, his father would give him a rock? Or if he ask for a fish, would he give him a snake?
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to him that ask him? (these are things according to God's will, things that we need, not things we don't need but simply desire to have) Therefore all things that you would have men do to you, you do to them.
Enter in (to salvation) at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and wide is the way, that leads to destruction, and there are many that go in that way. (they try to get to heaven by some other way than through receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour from their sins)
Because narrow is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads to life (eternal life with the Lord Jesus) and there are few that find it. (Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father, but by me." John 14:6)
Beware of false teachers that come to you looking like sheep (Christians) but inside, they are wolves (people who desire to separate Christians for their own gain). You shall know them by their fruits. (the things they do) Do men get grapes from thorns? or figs from thistles?
Even so, every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth bad fruit. (Every true Christian will do good works, but a person who is not really a Christian, you will know by the things he does to turn other Christians against each other.)
Not every one that says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in in your name haven't we cast out devils? and in your name done many wonderful works?
And then will I say to them, I never knew you: go away from me, you that commit sins. Therefore, whoever hears these sayings of mine, and does them, I will compare him to a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: and the rain came down, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it did not fall down because it was built upon a rock.
And every one that hears these sayings of mine, and does not do them, will be compared to a foolish man, that built his house upon the sand: and the rain came down, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell down, and it was a very great fall.
And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at his doctrine, because he taught them as one who had authority, not as the scribes.
